My illustrations tell the story of  Piri Aitua’s journey through time and of the pain one must endure in order to master a forbidden art form that consists of a energy in which would kill the average man.

Each piece show case different eras in time, with 200 years being the time gap between each one. The goal was to show his growth from man to warrior while also showing his journey though the years. I kept in mind to slowly develop the features I gave him. (dreads, beaded necklace, beard etc) This was aimed to express the craftsmanship of the energy and how over the coarse of time it  slowly molded and chiseled at Piri to create his physical appearance.
