My inspiration for my collection came from my love for Historical Fashion, Costume Design, and Avant Garde. I love the idea of merging the past and the present and modernizing the two.

The Silhouette manipulation in the historical eras I chose from, Elizabethan, Georgian, and Victorian, are techniques that are coming back into fashion now.

I chose Red, Purple, Green and Grey as my colour palette because each colour represents an aspect of growth. Protection, Blood, Life, and Stone; While the Grey of the Stone is the constant aspect, the colours are all things that grow from it.

I was also inspired by Alexander McQueen and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka. McQueen is known for his Avant Garde fashion and Ishioka her imaginative interpretation of historical costumes in her films such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
