Visual Arts and Design

Many Maori tribes around New Zealand tell different stories about Nga Atua, the Maori Gods.  My designs are part of my sculpture, that represent four Atua from the Creation narrative:

Tane Mahuta (Forest and Birds)

Rongo (Peace and Cultivated Foods)

Tangaroa (Ocean)

Tawhiri-matea (Wind and Weather)

My culture has always been a large influence in my work, and I enjoy being able to work with my community.  I aim to develop art that will encourage our young people and children to respect and be proud of their own culture.
