The intrinsic beauty of the natual environment embodies endless inspiration for my art, allowing a free flow of imagery and ideas to develop through studio methidologies. These investigations allow me to explore interactions between medium and form, an intuitive process that develops into mixed media works that are both naturalistic and abstract. I am particulary intrigued by light and it’s relationship with water and movement.
In and out of time, 2015, is a body of work based on the notion of the Sublime, which reinterprets light and shadow in the natural world to evoke a sense of time and space.
Taking inspiration from the Japanese Haiku, the work executes an interplay between text and image, chance encounter and considered mark making techniques, through processes of drawing, photography and printmaking.
