Fashion Apparel TE KOHU Collection designed by Misty Ratima Design Concept: The philosophy behind this collection has been to encapsulate urban Aotearoa in creating a new street style that embodies contemporary Māori design, accentuated with a dynamic colour pallet and unique contrasting prints. The inspiration for this collection is derived from my Māori heritage and identity, along with my passion for Hip Hop expression as a whole and love of street wear. Every ensemble in this three-piece collection has been named after each of my daughters. I have given great thought into creating a screen print that is uniquely significant to their individual natures and the meaning of their given Māori names. With that in mind, I chose to design a bird with relevant meaning and similar traits to those of my daughters.
