Amy Robin
Visual Arts and Design Born in Gisborne she came to ideaschool to learn a variety of arts, and to pursue a career in the creative industries. Growing up surrounded by many maori art such as carving, weaving and ta moko, she decided not to carry this lineage into her art forms but rather to go another way, to follow a more contemporary path. She started off wanting but to know what it was like being a graphic designer, entering graphic based competitions, enjoying the design side to things. Then went to do paintings where she developed a liking to telling stories within an art practice, then final year, she has created a stop motion piece based around story telling and appealing to an audiences emotions. “JOURNEY” was created with the animation style of stop motion with the idea of films being able to capture raw emotions from the viewer and making the viewer feel what the character is feeling.
